Membership Criteria

IDN JOINING CRITERIA: A practice must be 100% independent of all contracted engagement with Health Funds and Corporate Entities.

Exception: Single treatment preventative care programmes that provide patients with a 100% fee cover such as CBHS Health Fund.

Membership is on an annual basis at cost of $250 pm.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
IDN associate membership is available for younger employee dentists who are very much aware of the health fund and corporate threat to the dental industry (as they have worked for them) and who aspire to run their own independent practices.
IDN needs to get these young dentists on board and support their independent aspirations- even while they are working for others as employees.

As such, IDN offers a second tier of “associate” membership.
Individual “associates” (not practice owners – yet) can join at a token fee of $ 500 pa.
Associate membership allows access to the “IDN networking” aspect only (e.g. newsletter, on the email list for IDN notices, access to chat rooms / blogs etc., invites to IDN education days, mentoring by other older IDN practice owners).

Associate members are not be able to advertise that they are IDN members because they will only be employees not practice owners. They will join because they share the ideals of IDN and plan to own their own independent practices.
Younger dentists are the NEXT generation of ‘independent practitioners” – so IDN is willing to give them support and have them ‘buy in’ to the group and let them have a say in the evolution of IDN and future of dentistry.

Provisional membership with limiting conditions will be considered for owners of a dental practice that is in the final year of an existing service contract provided a written undertaking is given that at the current contract expiry date they will cancel their contract and join the Independent Dentist Network. Membership fee: Annual $1,500
